Lecture Concert exploring the pluralistic nature of
Indian culture, focusing on the unique genre of nottusvara
sahityas of Muthusvami Dikshitar, one of India's
foremost composers. A fascinating journey examining
the origin of this genre that arose out of the
interaction between European (primarily Celtic) and
music and Indian ideas in the early 1800s. This
concert features live Celtic/Folk instruments and
Indian voices. |
